Notice on Application for Chinese Government Scholarship for the Academic Year 2025/2026

 The Chinese Embassy in Indonesia has started accepting applications for the 2025/2026 Chinese Government Scholarship. Eligible applicants can learn about the various scholarship programs, application methods and procedures, and Chinese universities through the China Study Abroad website (http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina or www.campuschina.org), and submit all application materials in the system before February 23, 2025. There is no need to send paper materials to the embassy.



1. Admission categories

China-Indonesia Higher Education Scholarship: 20 full scholarships

Accepted student categories: undergraduates, postgraduates, doctoral students (for students studying in China in the fields of oceanography, medical health, tourism, education, etc.)

International travel expenses: self-paid

II. Application Requirements

1. Non-Chinese citizens, physically and mentally healthy;

2. Age, education and language requirements:

● Applicants for a bachelor's degree should have the equivalent of a high school graduate, excellent academic performance, and should generally be under 25 years old;

● Applicants for master's degree programs must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, have excellent academic performance, and be under 35 years old;

● Applicants for doctoral degree should have a master's degree or equivalent, excellent academic performance, and should be under 40 years old;

● General students should have a high school diploma or above and be under 45 years old.

● Senior scholars should have a master's degree or above or a professional title of associate professor or above upon admission, and should generally be under 50 years old.

●For applicants of disciplines and majors with Chinese as the language of instruction, candidates pursuing a bachelor's degree, general students (except for Chinese language majors), and senior students, their Chinese proficiency should in principle reach at least HSK Level 3. For applicants pursuing a master's or doctoral degree, their Chinese proficiency should in principle reach at least HSK Level 4.

●Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the school in terms of academic ability, language ability and other relevant aspects.

III. Application Materials

1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (filled in Chinese or English);

2. Passport front page. Applicants must submit a clear scan of the front page of their ordinary passport with a validity period later than March 1, 2026. If the validity period of the current passport does not meet the requirements, please apply for a new passport in time;

3. Notarized highest academic degree certificate. If the applicant is a student, he/she must submit a certificate of expected graduation or a certificate of enrollment issued by the school he/she is attending;

4. Academic transcripts. Documents in languages ​​other than Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations;

5. Language proficiency certificate. Applicants applying for Chinese as the language of instruction must provide a valid HSK score report that meets the corresponding Chinese proficiency requirements. Applicants applying for a foreign language as the language of instruction should provide corresponding language proficiency certificates according to the school's requirements, such as IELTS or TOEFL score reports;

6. Pre-admission materials. Applicants for studying in China must provide pre-admission materials issued by the institution they are applying to, which may include a pre-admission notice issued by the international student admissions department of the school, or an invitation letter issued by the college or tutor, etc.

7. Study or research plan in China (no less than 200 words for undergraduates, no less than 500 words for continuing education students, and no less than 800 words for postgraduates), written in Chinese or English;

8. Recommendation letters. Applicants for master's and doctoral degree programs and those applying to study in China as advanced scholars must submit two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors, written in Chinese or English;

9. Personal works. Applicants for art, design and other majors can upload personal works (such as videos, paintings, etc.) through "Works/Other Supporting Materials", or provide them in other ways according to the requirements of the school you are applying to;

10. Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant legal documents of their legal guardian in China;

11. Applicants who will study in China for more than 6 months must submit a copy of the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" (the original copy should be kept by the applicant, and this form is printed uniformly by the Chinese health and quarantine department and must be filled in English). Applicants should strictly follow the items required by the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" for examination. The "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" without missing items, without the applicant's photo or the photo without the seal, and without the signature and seal of the doctor and the hospital is invalid. The examination result is valid for 6 months;

12. Certificate of no criminal record. Applicants must submit a valid certificate of no criminal record issued by the local public security bureau, which should usually be issued within 6 months before the date of application submission.

Note: The materials uploaded through the system must be clear, authentic and valid. Applicants are advised to use professional equipment to scan the relevant documents to be submitted. Applicants shall bear the consequences caused by unclear or unrecognizable materials.

IV. Application Process

1. From now until February 23, 2025

Applicants should check the Chinese Government Scholarship website (http://www.csc.edu.cn/studyinchina) for information about Chinese schools and scholarship programs, contact the intended schools and obtain pre-admission materials, and fill in and submit electronic registration information online through the "Chinese Government Scholarship Study Abroad Management Information System". The Indonesian acceptance agency number is 3602.

2. February 24 to March 3, 2025

The Embassy reviews the applicants’ materials and determines the candidates to be recommended.

3. July-August 2025

Applicants can check the admission results in the system by themselves. The embassy will notify scholarship recipients to download the admission letter and other materials from the system.

5. Notes

Students who have received the Chinese Government Scholarship are not allowed to enjoy other scholarships (excluding various one-time awards) established by the Chinese government at all levels and the institutions where they are admitted. Once discovered, their Chinese Government Scholarship eligibility will be cancelled and they must return the Chinese Government Scholarship they have received. For those who deliberately conceal their funding, in addition to being disqualified, they will not be allowed to apply for the Chinese Government Scholarship within three years.
